If you enjoy learning new things and meeting people give us a call. We have openings for Community Facilitators.
Help us organize courses in your Community.

A Community Programmer is a volunteer in your community who organizes Adult Learning courses so that you can "put a little class" in your life.  The benefits include being involved in life-long learning, attending courses free of charge, meeting new people and more. Creative Arts  

Belly Dancing

You�ll enjoy this head-to-toe workout whether you�re a beginner or you�ve participated in one of the previous classes. Anna will teach you the basic Belly Dancing movements. Learn muscle isolation, chest, arms and hip movements, steps and some choreography. Please wear comfortable clothing and bring a water bottle.

Decorative Tole Painting

This is a hands-on course where participants will learn tole painting techniques as they paint a variety of seasonal projects. Learn to paint on a variety of surfaces such as wood, glass and tin. Introductory Pencil Portraiture

Knife Making with Ed Storch

Weekend/ 1 class
Make a knife in a weekend - design, profile, grind, heat treat, polish and make the handle. Do leather work if desired and etch your name on the knife. All processes are demonstrated and explained with help when needed. Tools and supply preferences will be discussed. Please bring a lunch, indoor shoes and personal safety gear. Participants under 18 must be accompanied by a guardian.

Instructor Profile: Ed Storch made his first knife when he was 12 years old. He learned to heat treat steel at college in the early 60�s. His oldest student to date has been a 93 yr. old female. Just under 10% of all his students are female. Ed is a member of the Canadian Knife Makers Guild. A selection of Ed�s knives may be viewed at www.storchknives.com.
 

Stained Glass Butterfly Swirl - Adding Techniques

I
n this class you will be making a 3 dimensional piece. You will choose your glass colors, cut, grind, copper foil, and solder your swirl together. Your butterflies will be finished with wire detailing. Price includes all supplies and use of equipment. Please bring a lunch.

Teaching communication to young children is vital to their development. Come out and learn how to use simple hand signs to aid in this process. Children can start to express wants & desires starting at about 9 months of age, as long as they have been shown the way. St. John Ambulance Standard First Aid- Level C
16 hours/2 classes (attend Saturday & Sunday)
You will learn to recognize and provide intervention for life-threatening emergencies until medical aid arrives. This course includes one and two-rescuer CPR, artificial respiration, and choking response maneuvers for Adult, infant and child casualties. This course meets the requirements of the new Alberta First Aid
regulations. Lunch is not provided.

Rhyme Time promotes oral language development in babies and toddlers. It also provides a positive
